Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy

I offer one-on-one telehealth therapy sessions for adults (21 and up) residing in Colorado and other PSYPACT states. Our sessions will aim at aligning your values and behaviors using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) may also be an option if you would like to address trauma.

What to Expect

Our first session entails getting to know your background, experiences, and needs so that we can create achievable value-driven outcomes. After your initial session, a recommendation for session frequency will be made based on clinical judgement. Over the next 1-2 sessions, we will create at least one long-term and short-term goal that will guide us as we work towards the life you want.

Fees & No Surprises Act

I accept mostly private pay clients but do accept some insurance companies through Headway. My private pay fee is $250 for 45 minutes.

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act also referred to as the No Surprises Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in an insurance plan, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan, both orally and in writing, of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.

Scheduling, Messaging, and Payments

Each individual therapy client will have an online portal account for secure messaging, scheduling, and payments.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

My individual therapy work mainly utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which is an evidenced-based treatment for numerous types of mental health struggles.

According to the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science, ACT is a behavioral intervention to help you learn strategies to live more in the present with increased focus on  your values and goals, so you can be less focused on painful thoughts, feelings and experiences. ACT is not about eliminating pain or fighting your emotions for control. Rather it’s about learning to live a life you value whether or not unwanted emotions are present.

ACT teaches you:

  • Acceptance and mindfulness techniques,
  • Self-compassion and flexibility, and
  • Enriching patterns of behavior for everyday life.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based “integrative, client-centered approach that treats problems of daily living based on disturbing life experiences that continue to have a negative impact on a person throughout the lifespan ” (Laliotis et al., 2021).
